Kristina Linden, Guest Instructs Tap in the 2019 Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensives
Kristina Linden will be teaching Tap as one of the Guest Instructors for Week 1 (August 19 to 23) of the 2019 Caulfield School of Dance Multidiscipline Summer Intensives.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Kristina began performing at a young age and soon developed a passion for the stage. She has been heavily influenced by tap greats such as Dr. Jimmy Slyde, Dr. Jeni LeGon, and Dr. Harold Cromer, to name a few.
Kristina has performed in Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., Barcelona, and Germany. She was a Principle Tap Dancer in the Opening Ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics and has been an opening act for pop singer, Mya. Her television credits include: The X-Files, Hellcats, Once Upon a Time, and Psych. Theatre credits include: Graziella in West Side Story (Vancouver Playhouse – Troy McLaughlin’s Dance Works), Singin’ in the Rain (Theatre Under the Stars), Anything Goes (Metro Theatre), and 42nd Street (Royal City Musical Theatre). She was a featured tap dancer in the Vancouver Spring Show (Queen Elizabeth Theatre) and the Orpheum theatre’s 90th Anniversary Celebration.
Kristina is a founding member of VanCity Sound, a Vancouver based tap crew. In addition to choreographing in the film and television industry, Kristina runs the tap and musical theatre programs at Poirier Productions, under the Artistic Direction of Rachael Poirier. She has been a faculty member for the Vancouver International Tap Dance Festival and the Rhythm Body and Soul Festival in Calgary.
Formerly the Artistic Director of TapCo, a company based out of the Vancouver Tap Dance Society, Kristina has also been a faculty member for the Vancouver International Tap Dance Festival. Kristina’s distinctive choreographies have fascinated and inspired her students, and audiences, (and judges!) alike. With her postsecondary education background and passion for performing, choreography, and teaching, Kristina is a teacher who shares her love for creating with students every chance she gets!
