The Half Day Training option allows Caulfield School of Dance students with professional aspirations in dance who are in middle or high school, grades 8 and up, to train in Ballet and Contemporary Dance from 1:30pm to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Students must have an academic schooling schedule that allows for afternoons off all five days per week.
The Half Day Training option is only open to serious and dedicated students. Audition and/or interview and signed Agreements* with students and their guardians are required.
There is a fee ceiling for half day students of $7000.00 a year. Once this amount has been reached (includes all “regular group courses” tuition which are discounted to Division/Half Day Training Program students, and Half Day tuition, but does not include semi/private instruction, special exam prep oration classes, etc.), any courses of any genre incur no additional tuition fees.
Intensive ballet and/or contemporary training in the summer is required of Half Day program students. For in formation on Caulfield School of Dance Ballet and Contemporary Summer Intensive Weeks please see the information on this site.
Contract Submission Deadline: no later than 12pm on Monday, July 31.* Payment of Annual Membership Fee, Costume Deposit, Summer Intensive* deposits, etc. as outlined on the attached schedule is due with the contracts.
* You may be registering for more summer classes and/or Intensive weeks than billed on the attached schedule.
* Please ensure you have preregistered online and paid in advance of the commencement of any summer programs including all Summer Intensive Weeks.
* Up to $525 of tuition for Summer Intensive Weeks can be included in the $7000.00 special fee ceiling.
Summer Intensives: August 7 to September 1.
Half Day program enrolment for the 2018-2019 year will require a minimum of 3 weeks of Caulfield School of Dance intensive week training and proof of participation in not less than 100 hours of summer training in total (i.e. summer classes and programs at Caulfield School of Dance totalling 100 hours or more, 3 weeks of C.S.D. intensive training = 60 hours + receipts for classes at other institutions totalling at least 40 hours, etc.).
The Half Day Training option is part of the Professional Training Division and therefore parents and students will be required to sign a contract of commitment. The contract includes a requirement of 10 hours of parent volunteer time per student in the program to be competed by Ticket Sale day in May. Parent(s) and Half Day program students pledge to ensure understanding of and adherence to the Professional Training Division program’s obligations and policies.
