Caulfield School of Dance offers several training options for serious and dedicated students that require students leaving school early, one to five days each week.
For students aged 8 and up, we offer intensive technique classes, called PODS, 1 to 4 days per week from 2:30pm
For students in school grades 8 or higher, our Half Day Training Option, Classical or Commercial Dance stream, includes training from 1:30pm every weekday afternoon.
The Caulfield School of Dance Professional Training Division Half Day Training option allows members in middle or high school, grades 8 and up, to train from 1:30 pm to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, in addition to unlimited, but mostly optional training on Saturdays and beyond 4 pm Monday to Friday.
The Classical stream pre-4pm Monday to Friday training is in Ballet (including pointe work, pas de deux, conditioning etc.), Contemporary Ballet, and Modern/Contemporary Dance including improvisation; the Commercial stream training is in Ballet, Modern/Contemporary Dance, and Commercial forms (Jazz/Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre, and/or other non-classical forms).
The Half Day Training option is only open to serious and dedicated students. Audition and/or interview and signed Agreements (please see more regarding the program’s obligations and policies below) with students and their guardians are required.
Tuition for the 2019/2020 Year for the Half Day program is $7417, or $7378 with the early summer registration discount. (The fee ceiling for Professional Training Division programs without the Half Day option is $7177, or $7150 with the early summer registration discount.)
Half Day program enrollment for the 2019/2020 year requires a minimum of three weeks of 2019 Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensive Weeks, which are included in tuition, and participation in not less than 60 hours of summer training in total (e.g. summer classes and programs at Caulfield School of Dance totalling 60 hours or more; or 3 weeks of C.S.D. intensive training = 52.5 hours + proof of training at other institutions, totalling at least 7.5 hours).
Pre-registration for the three weeks of Caulfield School of Dance Summer Intensive Weeks is required. Three weeks of Summer Intensive Weeks are $780.00 ($14.86 per instructional hour). If payment in full is complete by April 30, 2019, a 5% discount applies and total tuition is therefore $741.00 + $6637 = $7378.00 (vs. $7417.00).
Total Tuition includes, for September to June, instruction in Ballet (including pointe work, pas de deux, etc.) and Contemporary Dance/Contemporary Ballet in class time from 1:30 pm to 4 pm, Monday to Friday; and beyond 4 pm Monday through Friday: an R.A.D. syllabus ballet course for those pursuing an examination; a minimum of one hour of conditioning course time; and workshops, often with guest instructors. All students in the Professional Training Division, whether participating in Half Day Training option or not, are able to enroll in any* additional courses. Additional courses are optional except for individuals who require a co-requisite course or courses to participate in the Half Day program by individual assessment.
* Repertoire courses are determined by Audition.
