CSD students Conrad Cahoon and Lorena Morissette with Lynette Kelly at her Advanced II RAD course
Sunday, January 26 was a great day of learning with the Vancouver Ballet Society hosting Master Classes with movethecompany, and R.A.D. Master Teacher and former Examiner and Lynette Kelly teaching Royal Academy of Dance workshops in North Vancouver.
It was quite a week for the CSD dancers, who performed in the pre-competition showcase on Thursday and Friday, had classes on Saturday, and then did workshops on Sunday.
Speaking of movethecompany, artistic director Josh Beamish’s contemporary class, Caulfield School of Dance student Kaia Neal said, “he set new material on us that he said he will use to create a duo for a piece he is in working on right now. It was so cool to be part of this, and see his creative process. I loved it.”
Caulfield School of Dance student Lorena Morissette took the Ballet and Contemporary classes taught by movethecompany, artistic director Josh Beamish, and the Advanced II Royal Academy of Dance workshop class with Ms Kelly. Lorean’s Mom, said “Lorena enjoyed both the seminars with Josh Beamish and the RAD Advanced II with Lynette Kelley immensely. It was definitely worthwhile for her to attend.”
Conrad Cahoon, who also took the Advanced II class and said, “working with Ms Kelly helped me gain insight into the syllabus. It was really helpful, especially for my port de bras.”
Thank you to the VBS and Ms Kelly for these amazing educational opportunities!
