We are thrilled to announce that Caulfield School of Dance student Kaia Neal, age 14, received Honourable Mention for Intermediate (ages 15 and under) Ballet at the 2019 Provincial Festival of Performing Arts BC. And we are so proud of Chiara Go, age 10, who also represented our school and our region at “The Provincials” for Junior (ages 14 and under) Voice: Musical Theatre.

Chiara Go’s voice instructor Jocelyn Gauthier says: “Chiara performed beautifully at Provincials, and learned a phenomenal amount during her two days there. Aside from personal practice, the best way to learn is by watching others, and when you gather the best students from all around the province and put them in one room, you have the opportunity to do just that! Not only did Chiara learn invaluable information watching her peers perform, but she also learned from the exceptional adjudicators at the festival, who took their time to give each student personalized feedback, and conduct workshops at the end of each session. I am very proud of her accomplishments, and I’m sure this is not the last time she will be competing at the provincial level. I look forward to watching her grow in the coming years.”

Kaia Neal’s teacher Cori Caulfield says “I am so proud of Kaia. This is only her second year competing at all, and for her to be selected as Runner Up for Chilliwack, and the representative for Surrey is such an honour – not tot mention the Honourable Mention! Surrey Festival of Dance is one of the largest dance competitions in the world. Kaia has works so hard and I’m so happy that she had the experience of learning from the masterclasses and performing at Provincials. It was a pleasure to work with her to prepare these solos – and she performed so well!
