Welcome to the Caulfield School of Dance web site. We are currently developing a new web site which we expect to be up and running in the Fall of 2012.
You can still view our old web site, but much of the information is obsolete.
Please call us at the School if you have any questions.

We offer courses in the following disciplines all taught by expert and caring instructors under the direction of International Performer, Choreographer and Master Teacher Cori Caulfield.
We are happy to help you with course selection and registration at the School during our office hours.
Our preferred method of payment is cheque but we also accept cash.
You will need to fill out the student information section of the Registration Form and a Student/Parent & School Agreement.
A non-refundable registration fee of $30.00 secures your place in class helps offset the administrative costs for your enrolment and year ahead.
We have produced a Guidebook for every family who comes to the School. This one time purchase is $5.00 and gives our School Rules, and answers (we hope!) all your questions on hair and attire for classes, stage make-up, the criteria for scholarships, and so much more.
We add the Important Dates Sheet to your Guidebook each year informing you of our Parent Viewing Days, Hair & Stage Make-Up Seminars, Rehearsal and Show Dates etc. Please bring the Guidebook back to us when you register each year and we will update it at no charge.
Tuition is based on the full September to June year, NOT by the individual class, nor by the month. Students are required to make a full year’s commitment as all programs are progressive.
If you wish, you may give three payments with cheques dated the 1st of September, December, and April. A cheque processing fee of $5 will apply.
If you wish, you may give nine payments dated the 1st of each month, September to May. A cheque processing fee of $15 will apply.
A minimum $50.00 costume deposit is required for each performing course your child is registered in. Some costumes are rentals, and some you will be required to buy. Costumes may require minor alterations/additions for which you will be responsible. Your deposit is used towards the purchase of materials and design costs for the costumes used in the year-end show.
If you withdraw from a course prior to materials being purchased, or the last class in December, (whichever comes first) part or all of the deposit may be returned to you. However, if your withdrawal is after the costume has been started, you will be responsible for the full cost of the completed costume. Please note that the costume deposit is only a deposit, the cost per costume is usually $60.00 to $120.00. When costumes are complete, any unused portion of your deposit will be credited to you (people usually apply credits to purchasing tickets for the year-end show) and any costs not covered by deposits will be applied to your account.
Absences (especially in the 4 weeks prior to performing) may lead to exclusion from performing. When a student is excluded from performing, everyone in his or her piece and the instructor are adversely affected and extra rehearsal time is usually required. A $50 rehearsal deposit will be required at registration for every performing student. If your (child’s) lack of attendance necessitates extra time to a cost exceeding $50, you will be responsible for the cost. This deposit is returned at year-end when unused.
PERFORMANCE TRAINING COMPANIES
Students selected for Performance Training Company programs are given the focus and breadth they need to prepare for performing careers.
In the 2004-2005 school year, Caulfield School of Dance launched its Performance Training Company programs to make affordable the finest education in dance, singing, and acting for students who put the performing arts first, whether they wish to pursue a career in the field or not. The program is open by audition to any Caulfield School of Dance student age 9 to 18 taking a full ballet program.
Performance Training Company members receive significant training subsidies with the understanding that performing arts training at Caulfield School of Dance is their first priority.
With training and performance opportunities in Jazz, Modern/Contemporary, Tap, Musical Theatre/Singing, Acting, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics, membership in a the Performance Training Company programs offers a superb breadth program for both the future classical dancer and the “Triple Threat” (singer/ dancer/ actor).
No student should be involved in intensive training of any kind in their out of school hours at the expense of academic success. Should academic performance be low, Company membership, with its heavy home practice commitment, is not recommended.
With strict absence and weekly home practice policies, Company members enjoy the highest level of both training and accomplishment.
Auditions for the 2012-2013 School Year:
All students aged 9 - 18 years are welcome to audition. Students may audition twice. Members must re-audition each year. Flexibility and performance presence are the most important assessment criteria.
Preliminary Auditions for 2012/2013 will be by appointment ideally including at least one drop-in class. Those selected from Preliminary Auditions must participate in an Audition Workshop. The Audition Workshop is Tuesday to Thursday, September 4-6 from 7 to 8:15pm. Pre-registration is required. Fee $50.
Candidates should be registered for the courses they will take if not selected for Company with a note that P.T.C. membership is preferred.Thank you for your interest in Caulfield School of Dance.
Please call us at the School if you have any questions. We’re happy to help!
